Journey

I work primarily on backend systems, data platforms, and low-resource NLP — an interest that started with my thesis on unsupervised topic modelling and later led to MonOCR. I started programming in 2014 while studying Information Technology at Technological University (Mawlamyine).

Experience

Dec 2025 – Present

Founding Engineer

NOSBAAN

A multi-property, monthly-rentals business in Bangkok. I'm the sole engineer, owning the platform end to end for a small, cross-functional team — architecture through production operations and the on-call. • Designed and built an event-driven ERP on GCP; async workers isolate failures and keep heavy work off the request path. • Made ingestion idempotent under at-least-once delivery, so events never double-process. • A pre-push test tier fails a skipped suite instead of passing it quietly; load-tested the check-in flow clean at 120 concurrent users, P95 ~1.06s. • Built an AI-assisted guest-messaging system over RAG, with a grounding guard; in supervised rollout now, every reply is operator-approved before it sends.

Sep 2023 – Nov 2025

Senior Full Stack Developer

Thibi

• Proposed and led a migration to a simpler system design for the Myanmar Biodiversity Portal, dropping a dedicated server and consolidating two data tools into one, which cut infrastructure cost by ~33%. • Replaced an Airflow pipeline with a lightweight ETL workflow (Python → static JSON via GitLab Runner); latency dropped from 1–2 hours to under 5 minutes, and cost fell ~50%. • Led development of a public civic data platform serving 2.8K peak daily active users (GA4) and 100K+ records. • Introduced Next.js through a prototype and demo, then SvelteKit for lightweight data-story builds, leaving reusable templates and shared components the team kept using. • Mentored two junior engineers through code review and pair programming.

May 2020 – Sep 2023

Full Stack Developer

Thibi

• Built GIS platforms with real-time capabilities (WebSockets), data pipelines, and analytics dashboards across geospatial and analytics projects, using React, PostGIS, MongoDB, and Redis. • Developed backend APIs and data-processing services across GIS, analytics, and civic platforms, using Node.js, Python, REST, and GraphQL. • Automated recurring operational workflows across deployments, monitoring, and data exports, reducing manual overhead and improving reliability. • Standardised CI/CD pipelines and containerised deployments with Docker and Kubernetes, replacing manual steps that caused inconsistent releases.

Education

2014 – 2020 (Degree conferred February 2025)

Bachelor of Engineering in Information Technology

Technological University, Mawlamyine, Myanmar

Final Year Thesis: Applied LDA and NMF topic modelling techniques to NLP datasets.

Endorsements

"I had the privilege of working as a project manager for nearly five years on a very small team, where Zin Min served as the sole or lead developer. He was consistently two to three steps ahead of his responsibilities and approached unexpected challenges with enthusiasm and professionalism. I especially appreciate his patience and his ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical team members. I’m confident he would be an invaluable asset to any team."
